Who this applies to
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to every institution that subscribes to Anovish and to every user the institution authorises — administrators, teachers, accountants, and any other staff given a login. The institution is responsible for making its authorised users aware of this policy and for their use of the platform.
Acceptable use
Anovish is provided so that an institution can run its own administration — admissions, attendance, fees, examinations, staff and payroll, accounts, transport and communication with its own students, parents and staff. Use the platform for that purpose, in line with your subscription, with accurate information, and in accordance with applicable law.
Prohibited use
You must not, and must not permit anyone else to:
- use the platform for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful, or to store or share unlawful, obscene, defamatory or infringing content;
- upload material that infringes another person’s intellectual property or privacy rights;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, other institutions’ data, or any system or network — including probing, scanning, or testing the security of the platform without our written permission;
- introduce viruses, malware or any other harmful code;
- interfere with or disrupt the platform, its servers, or other users’ use of it;
- copy, reverse engineer, decompile, resell or sublicense the platform except as the law expressly allows;
- use automated means to extract data (scraping) or place unreasonable load on the platform;
- use the platform to store or process personal data unrelated to the institution’s own operations.
Messaging: SMS and WhatsApp
Where you use Anovish to send messages to parents, students or staff over SMS or WhatsApp, you must:
- send only to people who have a genuine relationship with the institution (such as enrolled families and current staff), for legitimate school communication;
- comply with TRAI’s DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) framework and use registered, approved templates and sender IDs;
- obtain any consent required by law, and honour opt-out requests;
- not send unsolicited marketing, spam, bulk promotional messaging, or misleading or impersonating content.
Anovish provides the tools; the institution is responsible for the content of its messages and for its lawful use of them.
Data you enter
The institution decides what data it enters into the platform and is responsible for having a lawful basis for it, including any consent required for children’s data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Do not enter special or sensitive personal data beyond what the institution genuinely needs to run its operations. How Anovish handles this data as a processor is described in our Privacy Policy.
Accounts and security
- Keep login credentials confidential; each user signs in with their own credentials and must not share them.
- Set user roles and permissions responsibly, so people reach only the records their role requires.
- Tell us promptly at info@anovish.com if you suspect an account has been compromised or misused.
- We may suspend an account or access where it is necessary to protect the platform or other users.
Fair use of resources
The platform is shared infrastructure. Do not use it in a way that degrades performance or availability for other institutions, including excessive automated requests or attempts to circumvent usage limits set out in your subscription.
If this policy is broken
If this policy is broken, we may — depending on how serious the matter is — issue a warning, remove offending content, suspend or restrict access, or suspend or terminate the subscription in line with our Terms & Conditions. Where the law requires it, we may also report the matter to, and cooperate with, the relevant authorities. We will act reasonably and, where practical, tell the institution’s nominated contact first.
Reporting misuse
If you become aware of any use of Anovish that breaks this policy, please tell us so we can look into it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices or the law change. The current version is always published here with the date it was last updated. Where a change is significant, we will notify institutions by email to their registered contact.
Questions about this policy
Write to us and we will respond. For anything contractual, please quote your institution name so we can find your agreement.
